Health is a universal topic. It impacts us all, however many topics continue to create confusion and division when it comes to how to best utilise healthcare materials as part of our daily lives.
We struggle to balance the need for sustainable approaches that are capable of scaling to accommodate the growing needs of our society. The challenges we all face today need not be faced in isolation. Empowered Technical Communities within IOM3 already exist to provide guidance and facilitate powerful connections within the materials science community. These diverse groups of talented specialists are at the cutting edge of materials science and, through discussions and exchanges within the Technical Communities, are best suited to provide valuable insights, powerful connections and meaningful impact across the healthcare field.
The Health theme strategically aligns existing IOM3 Technical Communities focused on impactful topics such as; tackling single use plastics, understanding chemical safety profiles in novel polymer systems or designing and constructing the next generation of interfacing medical devices. The materials knowledge and expertise accessible within this overarching theme form an invaluable resource when engaging healthcare solutions globally.
