The joint venture between SSE Renewables and TotalEnergies has declared the milestone depth to be 58.6m, surpassing their previous record of 57.4m in October 2022.

The foundations, aka jackets, have been lifted by a semisubmersible crane vessel which is big enough to lift each of the 2,000t foundations.

Each foundation will support a Vestas V164-10MW turbine.

First power came in August 2022 and commercial operation is expected later in 2023.

The 1.1GW wind farm will be capable of generating 5,000GWh annually, enough electricity for more than 1.6 million UK homes.
