UK Industrial Strategy Advisory Council convenes
The Council will monitor the development and delivery of a new Industrial Strategy.
Meeting for the first time on Tuesday 17 December, members will discuss a 10-year plan to boost investment, innovation and growth in key sectors, en route to the new Industrial Strategy.
The October’s Industrial Strategy Green Paper received 3000 responses from individuals, businesses, academics, think tanks and unions. Emerging themes from this consultation will also be discussed.
The Council will be an independent body, reporting to the Chancellor and the Business and Trade Secretary.
Chair of the Industrial Strategy Council, Clare Barclay, who is also President, Enterprise & Industry, EMEA at Microsoft, says, ‘Our mission is to provide a clear, independent voice on behalf of business, nations, regions and trade unions, as we look to inform the development of the Industrial Strategy, helping to create a strong business environment which will help our growth-driving sectors thrive’.
