The coalition is asking the UK government to swiftly and meaningfully promote and support Global Learning approaches in UK schools and universities.

A European Declaration on Global Education to 2050 defines it as an approach that enables pupils to critically reflect on the world and their place in it.

Benefits cited include improved motivation for teachers and students, better behaviour, increased attendance and higher academic standards.

The group says that Foreign Secretary David Lammy's recent article in Foreign Affairs, calling for 'progressive realism', chimes perfectly with the work of the Global Learning community in the UK for decades.

There is a launch event on Thursday 18 July for the Case for Global Learning.
