The 115,000ft2 building is part of the English Cities Fund (ECF) £1bln regeneration of the Salford Central area.

Homes England says that 36,000ftof the outside of the Eden building is covered in plants, and that it 'removes air pollutants, lowers urgan temperatures and improves biodiversity in Salford'.

The government organisation says that the wall contributes to ECF's aim to embrace the WELL Building Standard principles, that seek to improve human health and wellbeing through design.

'The completion of the Eden building by English Cities Fund is an important milestone in the transformational regeneration of Salford.

'Eden has set new and ambitious standards for future buildings across the country, which will contribute to the quality and sustainability of the built landscape,' notes Danielle Gillespie, Director of Partnerships and Major Projects at Homes England.

The ECF is a joint venture between Homes England, Legal & General and Muse Developments.
