Promoting dissolution recycling of plastics
Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) has established a taskforce to enhance recognition of the recycling method.

Its two main goals are to shape policies and to ensure a level playing field among all recycling technologies.
Dissolution recycling refers to technologies that recover polymers from plastic waste through a solvent-based physical recycling process, aiming to maintain the integrity of polymer chains.
PRE developed the taskforce in collaboration with DROP-IN – Dissolution Recycling of Plastics Initiative.
The PRE Dissolution Taskforce aims to promote the potential of this technology to offer both environmental and economic advantages, while also supporting a circular plastics economy alongside mechanical and chemical recycling.
Plastics Recyclers Europe invites companies engaged in dissolution recycling to join PRE and its new Dissolution Taskforce to share their expertise.
PRE reprensets European plastics recyclers who reprocess plastic waste into material destined for the production of new articles.
Plastics recycling in Europe represents over a €9.1bln turnover, 13.2Mt of installed recycling capacity, around 850 recycling facilities, and over 30,000 employees.
More information or inquiries about the Taskforce can be posed by email.
