You are invited to join us for our monthly virtual event where we will be focusing on bamboo. This event will explore how bamboo, in its round shape and when transformed into engineered products, can be a structurally sound, safe and climate neutral solution for mainstream use. The diverse and international panel of speakers convened for this event will present their views, experiences and latest research findings on structural design and fire performance of bamboo structures. There will be an opportunity for participants to discuss with the speakers about the future of bamboo as a mainstream material for zero-carbon construction and other applications.
You will hear from:
- Dr Martha Godina, Gradual Structural Engineer, Elliott Wood who will talk about Bamboo - two of the many possibilities of structural typologies
- Dr Hexin(Johnson) Zhang, Associate Professor in Structural Engineering, Head of International for the School, Edinburgh Napier University who will talk about Photogrammetry method for evaluating the mechanical properties of laminated bamboo materials.
- Dr Mateo Gutierrez, Technical Development Manager, CLTP Tasmania/Cusp who will talk about Bamboo Structural Engineering
- Dr Angela Solarte, Postdoctoral Research Fellow | Research Education Leader and Fire Safety Theme Coordinator, Monash University | Building 4.0 CRC who will talk about Fire-Safe Bamboo
The interactive seminar will also provide the opportunity for Question and Answers and we often hang around at the end for a fun and engaging panel session.
