More funding for innovation and education projects from EITRawMaterials
Up to €2.5mln per project for innovation, upscaling, education and skills projects across the raw materials value chain.
EIT RawMaterials is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, a body of the European Union.
The aim is to provide funding for transformative projects to address key sectoral challenges, and help drive collaboration between different stakeholders.
The 'calls' are to support both the Critical Raw Materials Act and Net Zero Act, by accelerating development, scaling and commercialisation of breakthrough technologies to strengthen Europe's raw materials value chain and equip its workforce with skills and experience.
The new calls for the raw materials sector are:
- Upscaling projects - for those moving to demonstration and commercialisation. Up to €2.5mln each.
- RIS Innovation projects - for proven technologies involving at least two Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) countries. Up to €1mln each.
- RIS Capacity Building projects - focusing on regional impact and sustainable ecosystem expansion.
- Global MBA in Materials Management - for upcoming leaders. Up to €2mln.
- Development of a Digital Transformation Learning Portfolio - to boost digital skills. Topics include smart mining and circular economy technologies, 3D printing and digital twins. Up to €1.5mln.
- Social License to Operate Hub - for training and consulting on community engagement and sustainability. Up to €800,000.
- Raw and Circular Economy Expedition for Executives - education through visits to cutting-edge labs and facilities globally. Up to €500,000.
