This latest episode from IOM3 Investigates... Life Cycle Assessment showcases the opportunities and challenges of conducting life cycle assessments.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) measures the environmental impacts of a product or service and is an important tool as we go towards building a circular economy with sustainability principles.
In the past few years, this has emerged as an important concept and consumers are more and more mindful of their consumption, requesting product environmental information and expecting organisations to report the steps they take to reduce environmental impacts of their production processes. These are all decisions that require an understanding of LCA.
IOM3 Training Academy offers a range of courses in this discipline, which provide attendees with the basics of LCA in the context of sustainability and life cycle thinking, as well as an introduction to the methodology behind LCA and how to interpret and critically evaluate information produced.
In this episode, IOM3 Head of Education & Professional Development Dr Diane Aston is in conversation with our course instructors Sophie Parsons CEng CEnv MIMMM and Louis Brimacombe FIMMM to discuss key themes of life cycle assessment.
