Latest episode of IOM3 Investigates...IOM3 Awards, Prizes & Competitions

In this episode, we find out more about the Student & Early Career Group and IOM3 Awards & Prizes.

The IOM3 Student & Early Career (SEC) Group was first created in 1967 (as the Younger Members' Committee), to develop a range of events to encourage networking and early career member involvement with IOM3. With landmark annual events like the Young Persons' Lecture Competition, Matopoly, Art Lecture, Road to Chartership and Professional Development events, Future Materials Conference and Materially Challenged, the SEC Group is an integral to the Institute.

Today we are joined by the Group Chair Dr Ilija Rašović MIMMM who is in conversation with Dr Matthew Wadge MIMMM and Dr Han Zhang CEng CSci FIMMM.

Dr Wadge was awarded the Silver Medal at the 2024 IOM3 Awards & Prizes 2024 and has been an active and award-winning participant in competitions like the Young Persons Lecture Competition and Future Materials Conference. Dr Zhang has been a recipient of the Silver Medal in 2020 and has recently won the Composites Award in the 2024 IOM3 Awards & Prizes. Dr Zhang and Dr Wadge talk about the importance of the prizes, awards, and funding available at IOM3 to inspire our young members to apply for these opportunities.
