IOM3 publishing partner releases 2024 Independence Impact Report
Publisher of the IOM3 Journals, Sage Publications Ltd shares its latest Impact Report ahead of their 60th anniversary.

The official publishing partner of the IOM3 journals, Sage, has released its latest Independence with Impact Report. The report covers the calendar year 2024 and demonstrates how Sage leverages their independence to support diverse talent and foster an inclusive culture.
The report highlights include:
- Enabling impact: Sage offers free, evidence-based science and teaching resources.
- People and culture: With a global presence, Sage employees dedicated over 662 hours to nonprofit organisations through volunteer day initiatives, and £9,000 worth of textbooks were donated to 18 schools and educational organisations, respectively. This aligns with IOM3 outreach objectives.
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion: Stonewall, a leading UK LGBTQ+ rights organisation, recognised Sage as one of the nation's top LGBTQ+ inclusive employers in its annual Workplace Equality Index.
- Sustainability: Global emissions across operations decreased by 52% from a 2019 baseline, surpassing the short-term net zero goal of a 45% reduction by 2030.
IOM3 set its baseline year for scopes 1&2 in 2019 and by 2024 had a reduction of 91%, well ahead of our 60% by 2030 goal. Scope 3 emissions have a baseline year of 2023, in line with good practice, we commit to an absolute reduction in our overall scope 3 emissions. Because of the complexity of managing our investment-related scope 3 emissions in the context of charity law, we are not currently setting a numerical reduction target for that element beyond an absolute reduction by 2035. For the remaining our non-investment related carbon output IOM3 is committed to a 20% reduction by 2035.
