Funding competition to boost large-scale refillable packaging for liquids
A £1.5mln funding competition from UK Research & Innovation seeks to drive adoption of reusable and refillable packaging by retailers, brands and consumers.
It is open to business-led innovation projects demonstrating in-store refill systems for high-volume liquid food and drink products – including dairy and non-dairy milks, water, fruit and vegetable juices, alcohol, soft drinks, and condiments – at scale.
Projects must include at least one large retail chain or brand owner and involve in-store trials in five or more stores lasting at least six months.
The competition opens on 18 September and runs until 25 October 2023.
