'Indeed, with the festive period bringing with it an increase in grocery spending and more recyclable material appearing domestic waste streams (including mince pie cases, beverage cans, foil wrappers, trays, tubes and screw caps).'

According to the Environment Agency's data, 119,792t of aluminium packaging have been collected for recycling in the UK.

Quarter three of 2024 increased aluminium recycling rates by 15% compared to the same period last year. Breaking this down, 43,466t were collected with 32,294t through kerbside, bring and on-the-go systems, as well as 10,910t from incinerator bottom ash.
