Czech firm buys UK’s Celsa Steel

Sev.en Global Investments has bought Celsa Steel UK and Celsa Nordic.

Celsa Steel, Cardiff, UK, will become 7 Steel UK, while Norway’s Celsa Nordic will be called 7 Steel Nordic.

7 Steel is to be the new brand of the companies with an overall annual production capacity of 2Mt.

The acquisition will also expand the workforce as Sev.en Global Investments integrates an additional 2,700 of the steel companies’ employees. The total number of employees within the Sev.en Global Investments group will double to more than 5,700.

The steel products include bars, sections, mesh, and wires, their steel products are used in the shipbuilding, railway, and wind energy generation sectors.

7 Steel UK (formerly Celsa Steel UK) is the UK’s leading producer of low-carbon construction steel and the country’s largest recycler of scrap steel.

7 Steel Nordic (formerly Celsa Nordic) is a premier steel producer that provides reinforcing steel and recycles steel scrap to produce steel in an electric arc furnace.
