Call for input on the Government Plan for Change

IOM3 is calling for input on the UK Government's Plan for Change on infrastructure and economic growth.

In December, the UK government published a Plan for Change, outlining five missions for the coming parliament. Most relevant to IOM3 is Mission 1 on kickstarting economic growth and rebuilding infrastructure, and Mission 5 on making Britain a clean energy superpower. The missions are underpinned by three 'foundation' issues, including economic stability and national security.

IOM3 intends to produce a report, informed by our members, highlighting the importance of materials, minerals and mining to delivering the government’s Plan for Change. We will focus on the necessity of our industries for economic growth, infrastructure, clean energy and national security.

Below is a form that lists questions exploring the role of materials in each of these sectors. We invite members to send their thoughts on any or all of these questions. We are interested in particular in receiving specific examples, data and sources that would illustrate why your industry is important to a non-expert audience.

Please send any responses to IOM3 Policy Officer Aoife Burke at [email protected] by Friday 28 February.
