Bridgestone turns out tyre with 75% recycled & renewable materials
The demonstration tyre is made from recycled plastic bottles, recycled steel and natural rubber from desert shrubs in Arizona, USA.

Bridgestone Americas new tyre is made of 37% recycled and 38% renewable materials for the next generation of electric SUVs and crossover vehicles.
The company plans to work with automakers on joint testing and market development throughout 2023.
The tyre-company announced that as well as a goal of using 100% sustainable materials by 2050 it is in the process of developing tyres with 90% recycled and renewable materials for passenger cars.
The company has produced 200 demonstration tyres and is pursuing joint evaluation with automakers.
As well as recycled monomer it contains recycled steel, recycled carbon black, TPO-derived carbon black and bio-based carbon black.
Bridgestone says it is the first street tyre to use natural rubber from the guayule desert shrub. It has spent more than US$100mln over ten-years plus on researching and developing the plant as an alternative to imported natural rubber from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree that is grown mainly in Southeast Asia.
