The site is in one of Canada’s key automotive and battery hubs, where NEO Battery Materials will construct a commercial plant capable of producing 5,000t of silicon anodes per annum.

NEO plans to invest CA$69mln initially, with a planned investment of around CA$120mln over eight years. It has submitted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment for the site.

This initiative aims to reduce reliance on imported battery materials while supporting the region’s economic development through job creation and investment.
