Anna joined AWE as a materials scientist in 2006. She developed a fundamental grounding within the science community, providing production support and led the qualification of new material products. Whilst looking at novel technologies to facilitate production, AM was emerging and this became a focussed area of research in which syntactic foams were printed using powder bed fusion. Anna now manages the R&D of AM at AWE, interacting with industry, academia and standards institutions to advance the technology whilst benefitting the engineering community

After a career of over 40 years in the refractory metals processing industry, David Rowe (EUR.ING. C.E.D Rowe CEng. CSci. FIMMM, FWeldI, Member of TMS and Life Member ASM) formed Cedar Metals Ltd.in 2004, a metallurgical consultancy company specialising in non-ferrous metals and rare earths from ore to fabricated products in particular refractory metals and corrosion resistant materials for the Aerospace, Defence, Chemical, Electronic, Furnace, Oil and Gas, Nuclear and Glass industries, general powder metallurgical processes including MIM, friction stir welding of steel and aluminium alloys and the use of advanced ultrasonics in the non-invasive cleaning of pipes and valves in the Oil & Gas and Chemical Process Industries, semi-solid processing of aluminium and magnesium alloys. He is also a member of Research Gate and Academia enabling him to keep abreast of the latest technologies. We have been an active partner in several InnovateUK projects where we specialise in patent and literature searches for information relative to the projects.

Ramesh Chandwani is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Underwater Technology, UK.

Having worked in Canada and the USA, he founded Zentech in 1980 to develop advanced application software and consultancy services focused on offshore platforms, pipelines, risers, and umbilicals for deep-water applications. Since mid -1990s been involved in development of Zencrack software to perform simulation of 3D crack propagation to carry out residual life of structures in Aerospace, Nuclear Power and Manufacturing industries. Currently Involved in engineering consultancy and application software development. Presently working on LEFM based software for durability and damage tolerance (DATA) assessment of AM components, Cold Spray AM and Cold Spray Repairs for the Aerospace Industries.
