A new dawn for UK and Saudi Arabia minerals partnership
Sixteen British critical minerals companies join a trade mission to Saudi Arabia.
The partnership will be signed at the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh this week, to boost collaboration in securing minerals supplies with economic growth.
Cornish Lithium and Beowulf Mining are joining UK Industry Minister Sarah Jones on the trade mission to the Forum.
The Minister will hail critical minerals as boosting AI, clean energy and economic growth when she speaks at the Forum.
The UK Government's Critical Minerals Strategy is due to be launched in 2025 and will focus on boosting international collaboration, with key partners to bolster national supply chains and security, while delivering new jobs and economic growth.
Jones is predicted to say, 'Critical minerals are increasingly vital to our economy, as we turbocharge AI, clean energy and new technologies. In the global race for economic growth, and in an increasingly uncertain world, the UK must secure supplies of these critical minerals.'
The visit comes as UK and GCC trade negotiators are driving talks for a free trade agreement, which could increase bilateral trade with the Gulf by 16%, adding an extra £8.6bln a year in the long-term.
The other companies joining the trade mission are:
- Cornish Metals
- Cornwall Mining Alliance
- Dendra
- Deswick
- Edge
- Gravity Mining
- GSA Environmental
- Headland Archaeology
- Next Generation SCM
