Danning Li wins 2022 IOM3HK YPLWC final.
Being one of the iconic events, IOM3HK is appreciated to have support by the academic institutes, and research organizations and industry of the region every year. Six finalists presented by the young Hong Kong scientists, students and engineers to take part in the Young Persons’ Lecture Competition 2022 Hong Kong final on 8 July 2022. This year’s winner went to Mr Danning Li. Danning is currently a PhD student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnical University.
Danning won with his lecture Investigation on the Aging Mechanism of Asphalt Rubber Prepared with Waste Tire Rubber. He expressed his excitement after receiving the winning certificate, 'I want to thank IOM3 Hong Kong branch for hosting such a great platform for young researchers around the world because I always enjoy the moment of making presentation. Becoming the winner of the 2022 Young Persons’ Lecture Competition Hong Kong final means a lot to me and my research. Most importantly, I want to express my gratitude to my supervisor, Dr Leng Zhen, who discovered my talents and gave me an opportunity to start my PhD study. I will carry this faith and try my best to shine in the Final World Competition representing the IOM3 Hong Kong Branch.'
The other finalists (Dean Fung, Eric Yuen, Hang Yuen Ho, Xiaolin Ren and Peigang Chen) also delivered great presentations:

Hang Yuen Ho – Perovskite - What so special?
Xiaolin Ren – Thermally enhanced photoluminescence in a lanthanide metal-organic framework
Danning will represent Hong Kong to attend the Young Persons' World Lecture Competition Final held in November 2022. He is also awarded a prize of $1,200HKD.
We would like to appreciate all six finalists in the competition and particular the judges, Steve Williamson, Jennifer Haigh and Louis Wong, who had the challenging task to select the top three from the finalists. Finally, we wish Good luck to Danning and enjoy the Competition in November 2022.
