IOM3 is seeking to recruit up to 3 members to join the International Affairs Committee (IAC) which is responsible for communications between the Institute and its international communities. It also encourages the development of new activities and communities outside the UK, and the delivery of services to the international community. The Committee is currently being expanded to help develop and deliver the Institute’s international strategy.

The remit of the IAC is to:

  • Develop and maintain international relationships of the Institute.
  • Co-ordinate visits to and communications with international like-minded communities, including, but not exclusive to members, governments, kindred and commercial organisations.
  • Assist in the establishment and maintenance of Affiliated International Societies.

Further information on the Committee can be found in the Institute’s Committee Terms of Reference Document.

The IAC will transact the majority of its business virtually.

The appointments will be made for an initial term of two years, with re-appointment for a final four-year term an option.

Nominees must be members (at any grade) of the Institute in good standing, with a track record of engagement with IOM3, a demonstrable commitment to support the Institute’s international development and either based outside the UK or with significant overseas links. The ideal applicant will also be able to show experience of working in voluntary roles, especially with regards to event organisation or member recruitment. We are open to nominations from candidates with a background in any of the many different activities and sectors of the Institute’s members. Nominees may already be members of another IOM3 community, but we are also particularly keen to improve the diversity of our volunteer cadre.

Nomination is by submission of:

  • CV
  • statement of what you can contribute as a member of the International Affairs Committee.

Please email IOM3 International by 10 September at 23:59 BST.

Email [email protected] if you would like to arrange an informal discussion about the role with the Chief Executive or Director of Membership.

Don’t meet every requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At IOM3 we are building a diverse, inclusive and authentic Institute. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the role description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may just be the right candidate for this or other roles.
