Interdisciplinary Science Reviews is a peer-reviewed academic journal owned by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3). The journal is published by Sage Publications five times a year.
Interdisciplinary Science Reviews is a well-established forum where interdisciplinary research between the natural sciences, the arts and humanities is reviewed and discussed. ISR publishes work which explores the nature, possibilities and challenges of interdisciplinary research and practice with the aim of promoting constructive dialogue between and across multiple fields of study.
The role of Associate Editor is a newly created position following the start of a new Editorship in January 2025. It is expected that three Associate Editors will be appointed to form a small executive team in support of the Editor in Chief, Dr Mattia Gallotti. An internal review of the scope and direction of the journal will be conducted in early 2025 with the goal to position the journal at the forefront of current debates on interdisciplinary education, research, and practice. It is expected that, building on the original intent of the founding editors of Interdisciplinary Science Reviews, the journal will continue to publish work which explores the nature, possibilities, and challenges of interdisciplinary integration, while ensuring that all published content will articulate a reflective focus on the process by which concepts and methods become integrated.
