Celebrity Lecture - 12th July 2022, The Energy Transition; Problem or Huge Opportunity?
The Sheffield Metallurgical and Engineering Association are delighted to announce that this year our Celebrity Lecture will be given by Dr Graham Cooley of ITM Power.
Graham will give a brief introduction to ITM Power and to the development of the global green hydrogen industry including global electrolyser target. The scale up of the industry and market activity will be discussed including industry sectors, project sizes and regions of the world with the greatest activity. The challenges of meeting industry growth including large scale electrolysis, manufacturing scale up and deployment will also be addressed.
This should be a fascinating insight into a hugely important market sector from one of the global leaders in the field and a proud representative of one of the biggest success stories in South Yorkshire manufacturing. ITM's existing 1GW Electrolyser facility employs over 350 people and a further 1.5GW facility is planned locally for the near future.
Our Event will be held at The Edge, Endcliffe Village on the 12th July, starting from 5:30pm when the Edge Bar will be open for networking. Our lecture will commence at 7pm and will be followed by buffet supper.
