This established conference series offers a mix of keynote papers presented by internationally renowned experts and presentations chosen from peer-reviewed abstracts, all of which cover a diverse range of industry sectors.
Keynote Presenters
We are pleased to announce John McQuilliam FIMMM will be giving one of our keynote presentations for ICMAC 2022. John joined Prodrive Composites in Milton Keynes in 2017 and is currently their Director of Engineering. Prodrive are the largest supplier of composite parts to the Automotive industry in the UK and they are pioneering the use of sustainable and recyclable composites in the industry. John has a wealth of composite manufacturing and design experience stretching back more than 30 years. He graduated from Salford University with a Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering and then began work in the Composites Development Unit at British Aerospace in Manchester. John then had 5 years working first for the Williams F1 team and then Arrows F1 during which time he completed his Master’s degree in Composite Materials from Imperial College, London. He had 16 years at Jordan Grand Prix going on to become their Chief Designer. He left the Team to join what would become the Manor F1 team from its very beginnings in 2009 as Virgin Racing and was appointed as the Team’s Technical Director in 2015.
We are also pleased to announce that Joe Elford will be our second keynote presenter for ICMAC 2022. Joe Elford is Head of Engineering at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC), Sheffield. Joe joined McLaren in 2017, following 3 years as a Technical Lead at the National Composites Centre (NCC). He completed an honours degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Portsmouth in 2013, whilst working as a Composites Engineer at PE Composites on the Isle of Wight.
The conference will be preceded by the free-to-attend UK EPSRC Future Composites Manufacturing Hub Open Day on Tuesday 13 September 2022.
The event will be a great opportunity for those across the composites manufacturing supply chain to learn more about the Hub’s latest research and how they can contribute to the Hub’s development and expansion, and the opportunities available.
