Craig Durham FIMMM CEng is recently retired after 34 years in the North Sea oil and gas industry where he worked as a Petroleum Engineer for BP, Sun Oil and Nexen Petroleum, as well as a 12 year spell in well services with the Expro Group. His last role before retiring was as Production Engineering Advisor with CNOOC International on the Buzzard Phase II subsea tie-back.
Richard has recently initiated as Executive Chairman and one of three General Partners a global $350mln private equity to invest in the hydrogen value chain. Following his retirement from Royal Dutch Shell in mid-2017 he built a portfolio of global advisory positions for Boards and C-Suite Executives in the Downstream Oil, Chemicals and other industries focusing on strategy and corporate transformations ahead of the Energy Transition. He is the Chair of the Energy Transition Group of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (where he also a Fellow), a Fellow of the Energy Institute, a member of Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Affairs) and a member of Chapter Zero (a community of non-executive directors who understand and can position the Energy Transition with their board colleagues). Richard is also a non-executive director of Boson Energy S.A. His non-profit and philanthropic endeavours include being Chairman of the London Chamber Orchestra Trust (www.lco.co.uk) until March 2021 and the named sponsor of 6 scholarships a year for gifted second year Nottingham University undergraduates receiving financial aid to allow them to also pursue their studies overseas for up to a year
Alex graduated from the University of Nottingham in 1998 with a BEng in Environmental Engineering before then going on to complete a masters in Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University in 2000. He then joined Reeves Wireline, a small logging company which took him to Oklahoma, Texas, Alberta and then Aberdeen in 2002. He continued to work in the North Sea and internationally before moving to Total as an offshore Well Services Supervisor, Read Well Services developing hydraulic expanded completion products and EV cameras as Region manager for Europe and West Africa. Since 2016 Alex has consulted for a variety of small technology companies focussed on well logging and intervention but is actively following the energy transition which lead to him volunteering for the recently formed Net Zero Committee and the Geothermal and CCUS Conference Committees.
David is a geotechnical engineer working in bp who has up until recently been predominately working on traditional oil and gas projects. David is now actively involved in helping the company transition from an international oil company to an integrated energy company and sees his skills transferable to sectors such as Hydrogen, CCUS and Wind.
Keith is an Engineering and Business Management Professional with extensive international experience in Oil and Gas, Power and associated Engineering and Construction Businesses including new technology development, de-risking and deployment. He has a proven track-record working with executive level teams and boards in a complex international business environment on a broad range of challenges including business development, change-management, knowledge management and the development and application of global tools, standards and practices. He has strong communication and people management skills including the development of technical professionals and business leaders at all levels. He has deep technical knowledge in engineering design and construction; personal and technical safety; quality management; materials and corrosion engineering; and asset integrity management.
After retiring from Shell in 2015 he ran a focused engineer career coaching consultancy, Engineer Career Solutions, Ltd.
In 2017, together with a partner, he launched a new venture, Anvil Resource Solutions, which provides performance focused, innovative resource solutions to the Oil, Gas and Energy Industries.
Since 2018 he has been working with the EPI Group Ltd. as a board advisor on innovative green solutions to hydrocarbon production and more recently carbon capture storage and use (CCUS). Via this role he has introduced new sub-surface technology and concepts.
Neil Gallon is a Principal Engineer with the ROSEN Group in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, having previously worked for various consulting and manufacturing companies, including British Steel / Tata Steel and GE Wellstream. He holds a masters degree from the University of Cambridge in Materials Science and Metallurgy. Neil has 25 years’ experience in materials and welding engineering, and is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and a European / International Welding Engineer. His current work concentrates on understanding the effects of gaseous hydrogen on steel properties.
After a brief career in exploration mining activities in Australia, Portugal and Ireland, has spent the last 30 plus years at all levels and covering all aspects of O&G well engineering operations, from Exploration, field Development, Decommissioning and Merger & Acquisitions. Presently UK Well Engineering Manager for Premier Oil UK.
