The CIE are holding one of their Presitgious Lectures.  The 1952 Great Smog of London and its Implications today.

This will be held on Tuesday 3rd Decebember at 6pm with coffee and chat from 5:30 in the Lecture Theatre 0.044 Main Building, Middlesbrough college.

Between the 5th and 9th December 1952 a thick sulphurous smog blanket covered much of Greater London resulting in, officially, 4068 deaths,  The history and politics leading up to this event are discussed and the consequential legislation, its strengthening and contiuned modification discussed.
