Mr Jerry Quayle

Jerry Quayle is a graduate in Timber Technology from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College and is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials Minerals & Mining. Since 1993 he has worked in the quality assurance industry both as a manufacturer and then as a senior manager & inspector in the product certification and testing industry; achieving Directorships for three international providers of testing, certification and consultancy.
Achievements include the hands-on development of 4 UKAS accredited certification bodies; originally for EN 45011 Product Certification and EU Construction Products Directive Notified Body approval. In his last position, his hands-on approach and experience led directly to achieving EN 17065 accreditation from UKAS within 5 months of initial startup.
Jerry sits on the Competence Steering Committee, WG 2, sponsored by the Department for Leveling Up, Housing & Communities as the only independent member of WG2.
In February 2022 Jerry was awarded Associated of the Institute of Fire Engineers status as recognition of his work in the passive fire industry.
In April 2022 Jerry was awarded the status of Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in recognition of his work with timber in fire.
An excellent communicator, at all levels, with extensive foreign business activity in the EMEA and Globally including excellent relationships with local and national government authorities both in the UK and the Middle East (GCC).
Jerry has an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing, testing and certification activities linked with the building and building component industry, particularly with regards to fire resistant elements especially fire doors both metallic and non-metallic. This has led to Jerry being involved with product development, R&D and full certification testing including peripherals, such as intumescents.
With his background in certification and testing, Jerry has a wide range of contacts and agreements with bodies around the world giving clients options when choosing a suitable provider. Jerry also writes fire engineering assessments for resistance and reaction to fire.
As a product quality assessor and inspector, Jerry has a significant history and is regarded as a firm but fair inspector/assessor by both clients and certification businesses, making him the ideal product quality assessor, inspector and advisor to clients seeking certification.
A versatile public speaker and trainer with many years of experience delivering to a wide range of audiences across the UK, EMEA and APAC region. As well as training sales, technical and QA personnel on a wide range of subjects.
Prior to starting Jerry Quayle & Associates and his previous company, JPQ International Consultants in May 2011, Jerry was Director of Intertek Testing & Certification Ltd, IFC Certification Ltd, Technical Approvals Section Head of BRE Certification and BM TRADA Ltd. For 5 years Jerry was Certification Director to Thomas Bell Wright in Dubai, a post he left in the Winter of 2017 having been instrumental in creating the company in 2012.
