The Role of Bio-based and Biodegradable Chemicals and Materials for a Net-Zero Future

  • As the world faces the urgent need to combat climate change, the transition to a net zero future has become a defining challenge of our time. Central to this transition is rethinking how we produce, use, and dispose of the materials and chemicals that fuel our economies.
  • In today’s talk, we’ll explore the transformative potential of bio-based and biodegradable chemicals and materials. These innovations not only offer sustainable alternatives to fossil-derived products but also promise to reduce emissions, minimise waste, and protect our ecosystems.
  • Together, we’ll examine how these solutions can drive defossilisation, support circular economies, and pave the way for a more resilient and sustainable future.

Advancing Sustainable Construction through Data-Driven Material Selection

  • This talk will discuss how data-driven approaches can help the construction industry choose sustainable building materials.
  • It will cover the importance of accessible material data and how it can lead to more environmentally friendly building practices.

The conquest of a mining-free world through PA

  • The talk will be divided into four different sections:
  • The importance of a mining free world – environmental concerns – case studies about mining the moon and seawater. Clear disadvantages of mining such as: child exploitation and pollution of heavy metals and the real transition to the conquest of 100% green materials.
  • In the methodology, I will talk about what Porous Alpha, where it is manufactured and key properties.
  • Results will cover different case studies such as ETP (Recovery of Metals) and UKRI – talk also about the REE (Rare Earth Elements) and CRM (Critical Raw Materials).
  • Another case study will be Spain and Morocco as well as desalination.
  • Finally, future endeavours will be to expand the business into different countries, flame retardant studies etc.
