Matopoly: Nottingham

Organised by EMMS on behalf of the SEC Group.

Following the success of past Matopoly events in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Liverpool and Perth (Australia), the Student & Early Career Group is pleased to announce that the 2023 Matopoly will be returning to Nottingham in May.

Teams (of up to 4 people) will be required to orienteer around the city by following clues which lead to destinations within a materials science theme. At each location a team photograph will earn them points. The team with the highest final score will be declared the winner.

Following the event, the EMMS will hold a reception at a local pub. This will provide an excellent opportunity for networking with peers from a range of materials science and engineering backgrounds, a complimentary buffet and the presentation of all-important prizes.

The Student & Early Career Group represents the views of student, younger and early career members to the Institute's Executive Board and Advisory Council. We aim to represent the diverse range of members by ensuring Advisory Council representatives cover the different disciplines, regions and career pathways of student and early career members.

The object of the East Midlands Materials Society is to create and promote interest in materials, and to bring together materials scientists, engineers, technicians and kindred professions in the East Midlands area by arranging talks, lecture competitions, discussions, works visits and social activities.
We organise meetings  that provide informative talks on diverse subjects relevant to materials and which contribute to continuing professional development for IOM3 members. Non-members are also welcome to attend.
