Emerging & Disruptive Materials Technologies for Dual Use Applications

The West of England Metals & Materials Association (WEMMA) are pleased to announce their November lecture which will be delivered by Dr Emma Ryan. 

The talk will explore emerging and disruptive technologies for dual use, including self healing materials, in-situ repair and point-of-need supply chain using additive manufacturing, and resilient materials for extreme environments. It will also include an introduction to NATO DIANA and how it supports the development of EDTs.

Dr Emma Ryan is currently a Challenge Manager at DIANA NATO, with experience in disruptive technologies and space-based solar power development. She previously held senior roles at Reaction Engines and Lockheed Martin, focusing on the industrialisation of additive manufacturing and heat exchanger production. With a doctorate in engineering from the University of Surrey, she has contributed to international standards in additive manufacturing and has been active in promoting women in STEM through various initiatives.

This event will be held in-personin the Queens Building (Room 1.68) at the University of Bristol BS8 1TR.
