8th Postgraduate Research Symposium on Ferrous Metallurgy

The Postgraduate Research Symposium on Ferrous Metallurgy gives industry, universities and research and technology organisations involved in materials, metals and process improvement the opportunity to find out about the latest research on ferrous metallurgy.

At the symposium PhD and EngD students will showcase their research with particular emphasis on the ferrous metallurgy sector. Along with this there will be a keynote presentation from an industry leader and a poster display. The symposium provides a unique opportunity to hear about the latest research and how it is helping to shape the future of the industry, as well as an opportunity to find out about the support and resources available, plus networking.

Here’s what Gill Thornton, R&D Manager, Globus Metal Powders Ltd had to say about the 2024 symposium:

“The standard of papers was exceptional. I was pleased to see the breadth and depth of ferrous metallurgical research being done at UK universities and the relevance to current operational and environmental issues”

Applications to present research or to display a poster at the 2025 Symposium are currently open for PhD or EngD students.
