Dr Matthew Cole
Dr Matthew Cole is the Oppeheimer Research Fellow in the Electronic Devices and Materials group and the Cambridge Graphene Centre, at the Department of Engineering, Cambridge University. Matthew's research focuses on the heterogenous integration of chemical vapour deposited aligned nanomaterials in nanoscale vacuum power electronic devices. He is a Fellow of St Edmund's College Cambridge where he is Director of Studies in Engineering and Admissions Tutor.
Matthew gained an MEng in Engineering Sciences from Oxford University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge University. He has spent time as a visiting scholar at Harvard University, and as a research associate at Sharp Laboratories of Europe. In 2015 he was awarded the IOM3 Silver Medal, the Institute of Engineering and Technology Sir Royce Medal and the Royal Academy of Engineering Sir MacFarlane Medal.
In 2016 he was named in the inaugural 30 under 30 list.
