Plywood: Material of the Modern World - Exhibition

15 Jul 2017 - 12 Nov 2017

A new exhibition at the V&A is announced

Plywood and its derivatives have been the most important development in wood products. Although invented by the Pharoahs (a bed in the British Museum) more famous examples are the mosquito bomber, the Junqua Ibis light plane, the Vosper motor torpedo boats, the Eames Chair to say nothing of the bullet proof plywood used on military vehicles.

They will also be showing the digitally remastered film 'The Plywood Story' of 1953 produced by the Canadian plywood manufacturers. A witty and informative film.
