Frank Paine Packaging Award
One of the final tasks I handled before stepping down as Chairman of the Packaging Society was to successfully find a sponsor for a Packaging Award within The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.
Many of you may have heard of, or indeed known, Frank Paine, who gave so much to our Industry during his many years in packaging. Sadly he passed away over a year ago, but thanks to the generosity of his daughter Heather he will now be remembered with a packaging award in his name.
The Frank Paine Packaging Award will be given to the person who can show an outstanding contribution within the Science and Technology of Packaging. It is open to members and non members globally. The medal will be awarded every two years and the recipient will be asked to give a lecture on packaging innovation to an audience of young professionals the following year.
Nominations are invited now for the 2018 award with a closing date of the 31st January 2018. All nominations will require a 400 word citation stating the reason and details of how the nominee fulfills the criteria. A biography of the nominee including his/her career progression is needed and publications where relevant.
The judging of the nominations will be undertaken by the Packaging Society and endorsed by the Awards committee. All entries to be submitted to:-
