Lecturer in Polymer Sciences (Teaching and Scholarship) - The University of Manchester
The University invites applications for the role of Lecturer in Polymer Sciences (Teaching and Scholarship) which is available from 1 April 2018, though a later starting date will be acceptable. This role spans scholarly activity, teaching and administration.
The primary responsibility of the post is to contribute to the development and delivery of teaching in the School, engaging in scholarly activity and communication with students and external organisations in order to remain fully aware of developments in the field and current practice. You will be actively engaged in the ongoing innovation and development of teaching methods and materials or the broader student experience with the aim of improving the education of students, their satisfaction with their education, and their ultimate employability.
The post of Lecturer is a responsible position in which you are expected to balance the pressures of teaching and administrative demands and competing deadlines. The responsibilities listed are indicative of the general nature of responsibilities of the post rather than specific duties and do not limit the responsibilities that you may be asked to assume by the Head of School or their Line Manager. For any individual the balance of responsibilities assigned may vary significantly, with the emphasis at any time being more towards delivery of teaching or towards other administration or management connected to taught programmes, students, their satisfaction and their employability.
Salary : £39,992 to £49,149 per annum according to relevant experience
Starting from 1 April 2018, though a later starting date will be acceptable.
