    Working in the Materials Group, within Structural Integrity Branch, CTO Engineering, you will be expected to take a lead role in the specification, investigation and performance evaluation of materials on our operational nuclear power stations (7 AGRs and the Sizewell B PWR).

    We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Development Metallurgist to provide support in the concept, trial, design, installation and commissioning of improvement, asset replacement and new processes.
    The successful candidate will design, develop and improve pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical and evaluation processes. The work will involve monitoring and analysis of processes and data in conjunction with laboratory, pilot and plant scale development and commissioning trials for our operations at Brimsdown.

    This role supports our Metrosil SiC varistor business from both a customer (product specification) and manufacturing (product design and testing) perspective. We are looking for an engineer with experience in product specification, design, manufacturing and testing.

    You will have good understanding of the materials requirements and design elements of electrical components, plus strong communication skills in conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Some supervisory responsibilities may apply, and a strong head for metrics and a high productivity level are critical requirements.
