Fellow or Fellowship is a prestigious grade for those who have made a significant contribution or established a record of achievement in the materials, minerals, mining or other technical discipline covered by IOM3. Application for Fellow is open to both exisiting members and those not already in membership.
The Fellow grade can be applied for as a standalone qualification or with registration from the Engineering Council (as a CEng, IEng or EngTech); the Science Council (as a CSci, RSci or RSciTech); or with the Society for the Environment (as a CEnv).

Making an application
Membership Application Form
All applicants are required to submit a completed application form in addition to the documentation detailed in the guide.
The type of application form that needs to be completed will depend on whether the applicant is already a member of IOM3 or not, and if they also wish to apply concurrently for professional registration. Further details are given in the guide and each of the forms can be downloaded from this page.
Applications must be supported by two referees who should normally be FIMMM and have known the applicant for a minimum of 2 years.
