Ceramics Society committees

The Ceramics Society embraces a number of different groups and committees, whose areas of interest are outlined below.

Cementitious Materials Group

The committee's mission is to provide support and educational activities for those who have an interest in the science and technology of traditional and specialist cements and concretes.

Ceramic Science Committee

The committee membership seeks to represent the interests of the academic and industrial communities in terms of developing a detailed understanding of the underpinning science behind the manufacture and use of ceramic materials.

International Clay Technology Association (ICTa)

The International Clay Technology Association was founded in 2006 as a result of a merger between the Institute of Clay Technology and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. The mission of ICTa is to promote heavy clay technology on a UK and international basis and to provide its members with opportunities to broaden their professional outlook, skills and qualifications, thus enabling them to face change with greater confidence and thereby help secure a dynamic future for the heavy ceramics industry.

Please note that the Building Materials Committee, Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Committee and the Whitewares Committee have now been disbanded.
