Fifth Energy Materials Lecture
Organised by IOM Communications on behalf of the IOM3 Energy Materials Group
Materials for Energy Storage in Electric Vehicles and Low Carbon Grids - Opportunities and Challenges
Professor Nigel Brandon OBE FREng FIMMM
Dean of Engineering at Imperial College London, Director of the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Hub, and Co-Director of the UK Energy Storage Hub
This year's lecture will discuss the role of energy storage in low carbon transport and low carbon energy systems with a focus on the material requirements for these applications. Particular attention will be paid to advances and challenges in lithium ion batteries, flow batteries and electrolysers/reversible fuel cells, and will draw on the speaker's own research in these areas.
